Spondylosis is a type of arthritis propelled by the wear and tear of the spine. It happens when discs and joints degenerate, when bone spurs grow on the vertebrae, or both. These changes can impair the spine’s movement and affect the nerves and other functions. Spondylosis doesn’t only happen to older people. As a matter of fact, it can also happen to anyone as young as 25 years old. Other types of spondylosis develop in different parts of the spine are as follows:
Thoracic spondylosis – affects the middle of the spine
Lumbar spondylosis – affects the lower back
Multilevel spondylosis – affects several parts of the spine
Below are some of the causes of spondylosis:
posture in daily life
heavy lifting during work
sitting for a long period at a time
hypermobility
degeneration cause by aging
genetics
lifestyle (smoking actually decreases the amount of water in your discs, and water is part of what helps your discs absorb movement)
Studies also shows that Spondylosis is predominantly found in female more than males. This is because Spondylosis in females can be related to hormonal issues.
Common symptoms
Common symptoms experienced by sufferers are stiffness and mild pain that gets worse following some degree of movements or long periods without any movement like sitting for a long time. Some example of more severe symptoms are as follows:
abrasive or cracking sensation during movement of one’s back
weakness in both the upper and lower limbs
reduced movement control
spasms and pain experienced in the muscles
frequent headaches
difficulty in balancing and walking
poor bladder or bowel control

Treatment methods
Conservative treatment is taking medication or doing physical therapy. Surgery might be considered if client does not have a positive response to the treatment. Conservative treatment may not alleviate the pain and numbness or improve muscle weakness.
There are many methods of surgery, starting from large incision surgery, small incision surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. Most people do not want to have surgery. Therefore, Integrative Medicine works best for this group of patients. Regenerative Injection Therapy is a perfect example of Integrative Medicine and as the name suggest uses injectable medicament as an alternative form of treatment.
Regenerative Injection Therapy
Injection is given to the local area such as the spine or the nerve compression to help alleviate the pain at its root cause. Some of the highly recommended treatments are as follows:
Prolo Therapy alleviate the pain and tightens the tissue. It is a series of injections at the point of pain that causes painless inflammation that acts as a regeneration catalysts. The tissue repair process will follow thereafter.
Blood component extract is the injection of patient’s own platelets to repair and treat the source of pain. The platelets will have growth factors to attract cells and Mesenchymal stromal cells to repair the tissue at the injected area.
Nucleic acid is a natural substance that works to replace the erosion or the lack of peptides. It integrates plus recover cell functions and create new cells to replace the dead cells.
CPT/FCT is done through nurturing and enhancing the degenerative cells by injecting cells or cell components to correct the degenerative cells. The body will bring the new cells to the area where treatment is needed automatically. The process will stimulate other cells to divide and create new cells. This includes stimulating those cells to work at their optimal efficacy. Most patients who receive treatment through this method often do not need surgery.
The method of treatment will be decided by the treating doctor after a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition.
